Unique canal cruising – Reviewed 18 August 2012

Embarked on the beautiful Lady Lena at Bathampton for a wonderful hour of cruising the manmade canal to the ‘top lock’ in Bath.
Lady Lena was derelict when boat builder and skipper Jenkyn Knill found her and restored her – preserving the world’s last remaining electric launch.
The result is a silent trip along the stonewalled canal that is lined both sides by vegetation providing a nursery habitat for a variety of waterbirds. In places there are bridges over the canal, stone tunnels, parks by the canal, restored warehouses and canal-front houses.
To top it off, Helen serves either champagne or a delightful cream tea – scones with jam and cream and a choice of teas.
