Camping in style at Durrell Wildpark Life – Reviewed 15 September 2012

New campsites developed beside the Lemur forest provide an African safari-style atmosphere where you live close to nature. Each campsite sits on a timber deck and has its own large sleeping tent, fully carpeted with double or single beds and a wood-fired heater, rack for hanging clothes and beside tables. There is also your own kitchen and bathroom tent. The kitchen is equiped with sink, cooktop with two cooking rings, an esky with free ice packs, saucepans, crockery and cutlery. The spacious bathroom tent has a flushing toilet (yes), ceramic basin and shower with plenty of hot water and good water pressure and a large clothes airer to hang bathtowels. Outside there’s a dining setting with umbrella for al fresco dining and banana lounges for relaxing.
A great option for anyone who likes to experience the great outdoors but needs a proper bed for a good night’s sleep, prefers a flushing toilet and to be able to shower in comfort.
Some sites also have a separate ‘tee pee’ style tent for the children. Visited September 2012.
