A must-see country estate – Reviewed 18 August 2012

Dyrham Park is a spectacular country estate with a huge mansion and a delightful village church beside it.
Well worth a visit to see the orangery, the original ‘hall’ of the farmhouse that first stood on the site and the west and east wings, built around 1790. The house has precious artworks and a fine collection of Delftware. The kitchen is well displayed to show how the staff provided bread, meat, dairy products etc for the household. The estate gardens are estensive and well cared for by a huge team of volunteers. There is a tea room for refreshement. A courtesy bus carries visitors from the parking area down to the house and back up the hill. Visited August 2012.
