Stunning ancient temples – Reviewed 19 October 2012

The temples in Agrigento are some of the best preserved ancient temples.

There are some demountable toilets at the venue. BYO toilet paper. In fact BYO toilet paper everywhere in Italy to be on the safe side.

Once through the entry there is a short, gentle hill to climb to the first temple however all the others are downhill. There is a people mover which shuttles people up the hill every 15 minutes so don’t miss seeing all the temples thinking there’s a long hot climb if you do.

October is a good time to visit as it is not too hot. Summer is 40 degrees and above.

The temple area has some almond and olive trees, including some very old olive trees – eg 500 years old. Visited October 2012.
