We have holidayed at the Bunya Mountains for many years and are always drawn back by the majestic beauty of the mountains, the huge Bunya and Hoop pines aged up to 400 years old, the Red Cedars, White Woods, Strangler Figs and delicate ferns on the rainforest floor.
In this pristine environment birds and animals thrive, from the noisy parrots and rosellas to the spectacular blue fairy wrens and the fascinating bower birds and scrub turkeys.
Several species of wallabies delight visitors when they graze at dawn and dusk, letting their joeys out of the pouch to hop around. Bunya Mountains Chalets has a wide range of houses for rent in the rainforest providing visitors with an intimate experience with nature. Visited October 2014.
