Hell in Paradise – Reviewed 17 April 2012
The online marketing for this property is misleading – it’s old and tired and run by a foreign national with minimal English. There is no room service. Not even replenishment of tea/coffee/sugar sachets.
The online ad says: Excellent accommodations, great services combined with dedicated attention makes guests’ stay a pleasurable experience at the Paradise Court Holiday Units Whitsundays.
The reality is a tired 1960s property with noisy air con units that prevent sleep. The studio unit is half the size of the other units.
The online ad says: Restaurant and dining – Paradise Court Holiday Units has well-equipped kitchenette in each unit for guests to cook their desired dishes. BUT the units have no restaurant and provide no meal service at all. Not even a replenishment of tea/coffee/sugar sachets.
The marketing says: Rooms – All 8 units at this property are well-appointed including an array of modern amenities such as Internet access, flat screen television and kitchenette.
The reality is the studio unit is more like a cabin – take it in turns to stand up and move around. The ‘kitchen’ facilities are a single hot plate, a sink and a tiny table.
The marketing says: Location and surrounds – Paradise Court Holiday Units is conveniently located in the heart of Whitsundays and only minutes away from the beach. The reality is it’s not in Airlie Beach as the addess says, it’s in Cannonvale – a brisk half hour walk from Airlie Beach. The one thing in its favour, it that the units are handy to Whitsunday Shopping Centre which is about 200 metres down the road and across the highway.
