6 Parvis Notre-Dame, Place Jean-Paul II,

Notre Dame, Paris – Reviewed 22 September 2012

Notre Dame is a stunning gothic cathedral with twin towers on the front and a curved sanctuary. The high walls are supported by flying buttresses.
Entry is free and many services are held. Visitors are invited to contribute donations at the exit.
For photogaphers wanting good light on the front of the cathedral, mid to late afternoon light is best. For the best light on the curved end, looking from the garden towards the sanctuary, morning is best. There are good views also of the side from the Seine River.
There are toilets around the back but only two female toilets and a long line and no toilet paper. In fact in many Parisian toilets BYO toilet paper to avoid disappoint. Visited September 2012.
